PDF to text file converter that allows extracting text from a batch of PDF files. PDF2Text Pilot is an open-source tool. Software developers can use the code as an example of solving a text extraction task. Working from command line is supported.
Features: PDF format is as electronic paper so it`s handy for viewing and printing. If you want to extract texts from a PDF file, you can open the PDF document with Adobe Acrobat and then use the Copy and Paste functions. PDF2Text Pilot text extractor provides you with another means of extracting text from PDF documents. Just select PDF files, click Convert, and you will get text files containing the text extracted from the PDF file. No need for the Adobe Acrobat either. Text extraction can be done in a batch when the text extracted from individual files is stored into unique files. You can choose to have all of them stored in the same file too. There`s a command line option available where the conversion commands can be executed from the command prompt directly. This is a open source product and is available for use. The text extracting feature is handled by the PDF Creator Pilot library. Placing an image, using elements like lines, arcs, circle etc are possible.
Overall: A nice application which also is available for integration into your own application, this is a nicely featured package. It is quite easy to use.
